Life give me a Jesus Christ or give me aliens
I am uncomfortable here with what engines mans hate
Why does this motor burn fear but the gears turn out rage
Is this an abduction of us or a God and his/her medicine
There's no medicinal purpose for this rage
Did a God create these souls
To make the wheel rounder
Can I have one too
To make the wheel rounder
And some aliens
To make the wheel rounder
The slow motion of time moved sand over our past
What's left uncovered to represent where we bottomed out
Is it just us wobbling tall on what should be plowed
But the tractor today can only sputter out rage the fear of God has been cracked
So what about our desire, beliefs, successes and names
How hard can it be for us to relax, live, and age
Together will we ever give in to finding the better way
I think I have an idea for one too
But who would police the change
Would police change
Change

1973
05:38
|
|||
In 1973 I got sent here again into paradise
Oh what a glory it is to have been
And to get to return to here and live another life
To do some wandering down these same old roads
These rumblings I'm feeling these days
Cause I have been here once before
But not enough was dead
And so to leave I've got to live this life just right
With all of the comforts of an old home
This old world won't turn you away
It will welcome you back as a new friend
To live and love and hate and learn it again
So where did we find this reason for torture
When did we give up on these souls
Recycle them back to a begining
In 1973 I got sent here again

The World to Some
03:41
|
|||
Is this our darkest hour
Oh no my man we don't starve we war
For God and country
We will march to war
Set your fear aside
And come fight this war
Open the bomb bays
We will win our war
And become a people destined to be great
A colorful people to show all the way
Let's hunt down a few people and show them we will win
Let's corner a few people and show them we will win
Let's plink off a few people and show them we will win
Let's put down a few people and show them we will win
Let's vaporize some people and show them we will win
On with the battle
Oh yeah my man we want this war
A campaign for you
Mobilized for a war
So set the stage
You watch and we will war
Amongst ourselves
We will win our war

For a Gun
04:33
|
|||
Will you leave flowers on my grave when I die as you pass the cemetary
She said I don't know if that would be right for you you're more suited for a gun
For a gun will protect you when you die
Guarentees success after life
Like money in the promised land
All you need is a gun in your hand
Where did you get all of that from it sounds so extrordinary
Quite different from anything I've heard tell me more about a gun
She's subject to violence
She's subject to greed
Still she don't dissapoint me
I'll let her be what she believes
We took a drive into the dessert, she had a place for me to see
The road ended at a graveyard full of her history
There was a bag of guns at the gate she handed one to me
We walked to a grave and I set it down..........the stone read the name of me.............

Music and the Mood
03:54
|
|||
Been draging this song all through my head
And living out the last few words that were said
I got it right but I'm getting it wrong
It's time I'm gonna have to change this song
No no I ain't gonna let the music set my mood
No no I ain't gonna let the music set my mood
I've been wondering this whole time why can't it be
They got the drums they've got the bass why won't they sing
Instead just voices in my head pointing where to go
They complicate things up just right to stop me from my flow
You can't stay here for long I ain't got the room
The space you occupy as friends will be tore down here soon
Your words sunk into me well as they moved with a smooth sound
But why am I here dancing with these words when I need my own ho-down

The Farm
02:43
|
|||
A lame henny in the back of the barn been kicking up dust
For the best of what it did it didn't kick up much
Been trying to drive the goat just as best as it can
Out of the barn and onto the land
Oh me my now look who's stomping their boots
And dancing to the music in the room
Building up momentum as a gang
Now this old barn is starting to bang
Oh look a leaning roof
Around and around and around and up and down
These two here are going to tear each other down
Or die trying to make the other one give
But together in this world these two can't live
Should we go and try and seek and find a box
And wait for one of the two here to get tossed
And say we have a soul here that could have been saved
But they already started digging their own grave
Oh look a leaning roof
Tick tock along goes that good timing clock
Like a farmer its been keeping watch
As soon as its bell went dong ding
The barn came down on the whole scene
Now the animals here have made their amends
They're hammering their old world back together again
Loading pieces into there pick'em up truck
As they find good boards they stand them up

The Crows
04:26
|
|||
I want to see my slow world go fast
Live some life and learn it last
I want to mix my young days with old
Feel through the darkness can't I unpack some soul
Am I still in line to have an end
Or am I spun around at where it begins
I want to mix my young days with old
Feel through the darkness can't I unpack some soul
So why do some lives have no content
But fill other with controversy and dents
I want to mix my young days with old
Feel through the darkness can't I unpack some soul
These morning crows are loud and alive
Laughing on the wire at time
I want to mix my young days with old
Feel through the darkness can't I unpack some soul
I want to mix my young days with old

Trying Through the Pain
04:48
|
|||
When I'm a done old bastard and they put me in the dirt
With all things done how could that hurt
Would the shame be willing to release my soul
From only being able to live my life alone
Without its grip could I have one last laugh
And take everything out with me in my path
Even though I know this would do the world wrong
And help what I should stand against grow strong
I love it when people hold up their hands
And say hey God take me from this land
Then a bolt of lightining strikes them down to dust
They learned they're not alone here and this grew to trust
Why do they seem not to have their own names
But knew to trust trying through the pain
With their last chance they came to see
In defeat you raise your arms to victory
There are things we cannot know
There are places we should not go
All in all do we understand
How to live here on this land
Is there still room to roam
For the few left native in their soul
Show these ones where to begin
To lead us to a better end

Lost Along the Way
11:43
|
|||
From the distance it looked as if we got lost along the way
Those screams and shouts that we heard they said you know we'll make it there someday
What would lead us off coarse to go stumbling back through time
It's hard to look to where we're going when this guiding light keeps making us blind
We need to hurry to hit our stride
Or soon the sun will have us all dried
We need to hurry to hit this stride
As complicated as we are we're to damn simple to progress
With every step that is built primitive thought tears down the rest
We could use our science with our math to guide us to the right path
But then it would be we want more reach for something else and drop the map
Have we been pelted by misfortune
Got some bad news this time today
Good old misfortune get lost along the way
Without misfortune you know we'll make it there someday
Good old misfortune get lost along the way............
